James Richmond is completing his second year of studies in the English Juris Doctor program at the University of Ottawa. He joined Debs Law as a student intern in January 2018 and has assisted on a variety of files primarily in immigration and refugee law. From his education background in applied ethics and philosophy, James has a keen interest in social justice and human rights.
When James is not spending time with his newborn daughter and wife, he enjoys relaxing with friends, playing hockey, and reading fantasy novels.

attending law school, James worked for several years in the Government of
Canada. He served as the correspondence manager for a Member of Parliament and
was responsible for all incoming and outgoing mail, as well as researching,
drafting, and advising his Member on current issues. James also worked for
Environment and Climate Change Canada. He has also worked part-time for almost
6-years as a support worker for individuals living with disabilities.
James is fluent in English and has conversational ability in French.
